I knew I was dreaming.

In my dream, I climbed down my bed and felt the rough carpet press against my feet. I heard the sound of my dragging footsteps. I wasn't sure where I was going so I just watched where they were taking me. The rest of my body was limp.

My eyes half open I was staring down at my legs as they made their way to the kitchen. I felt the cold floor shake my nerves.

Where was I going?

I stopped just in front of the door and my eyes closed completely. The next thing I knew my hands were turning the cold metal lock and I hear it click. I couldn't see anything but my arms could feel that I pushed the door open.

My body is moving.

I was outside of the house. It was raining lightly.

I feel really cold.

Where am I going?

I couldn't wake up.

All that was coursing through my head was "No. You can't make me. No. I won't."

I was running from something I was obliged to do.
But I don't even remember what it was.

I knew I was dreaming. I was very curious where I was going so I let myself stay asleep.

My feet were wet. I could feel the mud between my toes. I still had my eyes closed but the sensations were enough to tell me that I'm now walking on the road.

My legs start shaking and the gravity pulled harder than ever before. My breathing was pitching and I could feel my lungs collapsing from the chilly air.

I was dying.

I had to wake up or else I'd lose consciousness compeletely.

Wake up!

Wake up! Please, wake up already!

I tried to shock myself with burst of energy trying to scream out.

I'm dying.

My feet stopped. I couldn't take a step any further.

That was when I felt the fear of that of what was coming after me rather than my curiosity of where I was supposed to go.

Please, don't come any closer. I couldn't hear or see anything coming to get me but I knew it was behind me. It was in the shadows and it rushed towards my body as I fell on the ground.

The splash of a deep puddle startled me awake and my eyes shot open.

I was breathing heavily.

I found myself drenched...

but in sweat.

And I was staring at the ceiling of my own room.

A dream?

I sat up and checked my clothes. They were dry and my feet were clean.

Was it all a dream after all?

I tried to brush away those thoughts. I knew I had to start my day. The sun was up and time was going faster and faster as I try to keep up with my daily routine.

I grabbed my bag and ran out of my room. I was already calculating the route I should be taking to school when suddenly I slipped.

I found myself on the kitchen floor.

Shit! My hip hurt from the fall. I looked at my feet to see what had caused that accident.

There were muddy foot prints from the door leading back into my room.

But...

Wasn't that just a dream?
