Hello Everyone!
I'm featuring 2 sites today! Both have something to do with learning Japanese Language. So if you are in the middle of learning, or wanna start now, these sites might just prove useful to you o3o from really basic stuff to casual everyday usage etc.
btw, I got this from school =w=;; It's not perfect, but it's better than a text book if you just can't pay attention to serious lessons kofkofmekof.
ANIME/MANGA BASE: anime-manga.jp/ ;
english, japanese and korean version available.
This site is anime-manga based GRAPHICS and if you plan to write manga, it's also helpful with how different types of characters talk, or even sound effects.
The art is not glamourous but it's better than all text
Here are screenshots of some of what they have.
This is their front page. It has different themes such as ninja, samurai, lovey-dovey-mushy-wushy, and school.
The first part I checked out was this
It's like a quiz on "WHOSE LINE IS IT?" and depending on how they speak, you should be able to tell who is speaking. (of course, there's no audio, that would give it away...)
If you can't read hiragana(こんにちは) or kanji(留学生) yet, there's options to use romaji(konnichiwa) so you can use this as practice no matter what your level is.
If you need, there's also extra explanations and notes.
And the rest are mostly kanji practice that kinda looks like this:
Then you get prizes for download =x= I didnt get mine tho it doesnt look like much -shot'd-
The themes are different but the goals are rather the same...
Then there's a manga part where they show cliche parts of manga or daily life
They show you what usual phrases are used and even the bg sounds. WARNING: I died because it was a bit too old school and cheesy for me SPECIALLY the school-romance stuff, of course, sadly it isnt yaoi, but damn the GUY looks like
with a piercing and he's all "oh honey~ I wont let you go~" I just... wanted to punch the computer screen!!! but this computer isnt mine so....
AHEM anyway...
There's translations at the bottom too, and you can switch english to japanese etc.
There's also a quiz if you wanna take it. On which sound effect to use xD;; oh damn I fail this one bad, it just doesnt make sense to me (some sound effects dont match properly)
easy example is a dog's bark. in my country (philippines) we use AW-AW in canada (also half my country) they use WOOF or BARK but in japan they say WAN-WAN.
der Wauwau!
and this one was the least interesting but most useful in my opinion:
WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF IT WAS BL, eh?
SECOND SITE: ERIN </u>
www.erin.ne.jp/en/english and japanese available.
This second site, features a girl named Erin, You can watch a lot of short videos of everyday situations.
I think it's very useful and you'll get to practice your listening.
It goes from very basic conversation to debates. (maybe not court standards but still intermediate ehhehe)
Again, just my opinion u dont have to agree with it, Their acting is not too great, some points I twitch but I can't say I'm willing to do any better ahurrr...
It's really casual tho so it's useful o3o
They also have a manga version if you prefer it this way, then you can play the audio by clicking the dialogue.
There's also a part where they teach you culture stuff like how to wear a yukata or do some calligraphy
LAAA~!!! Look at my failage!
There's also useful vocab WITH PICTURES!
and this is what their intermediate skit page looks like
HEI'S RANT ABOUT LEARNING JAPANESE If you don't give a maple about my POV my journal ends here! Thank you! Goodbye :'D
But if you love moi
Keep on reading!
So it's been about 5 months since I moved to Japan and started learning the language.
Most of my classmates are either Chinese or Korean so it's been quite a hard time looking for friends but good thing
is with me so we help keep each other sane.
Given that, of course the chinese and koreans group with their own kind. English-speakers are the minority in my school, and even the teachers dont speak ENglish, so you at least gotta know the most basic stuff before you come here like hiragana katakana can easily be self-studied at home. and if you can, go take japanese in your highschool bec its really useful.
I probably started learning Japanese 5 years ago--- and that's not a full time thing. I skipped from tutors to extra classes and self-studying and managed to get through the text book MINNA NO NIHONGO 1 after all that time. bec there wasnt an actual school specially just for that, anywhere around where I used to live.
SO--- After I went here in Japan, it had only been 3 months, and we already finished BOOK 2 of minna no nihongo oAo I was really surprised and impressed kufufu at how fast it was to actually learn it if you concentrate and focus on it.
Now we are using the TE-mA middle level book, and compared to Minna no Nihongo books which teaches grammar;
This tema book is focusing more on practical use, it has a lot of reading excercises, writing and speaking. Since you already know WHAT TO USE, you just gotta learn HOW/WHEN TO USE it next.
Sadly, I'm going back to Canada around next month... oTL due to family related reasons, Which is a sad thing cuz my learning momentum will be cut and I have to change classes when I go back TAT just when I got friends (from china vietnam and taiwan as said in my previous gintama journal) so by the time i return they would already be in the higher levels oTL
But I guess it's good to take a break too... so I can go to cons
and earn back my lost moolah TwT;;
Ah also, I need at least level N2 , in the Japanese Proficiency Test, to get into the manga school I want. (also featured in my previous "in japan" journals)
At my level, they say I'm about N3+ or low N2. So I need just a bit more; plus practice to get in.
It's true that you can get level 2 or even 1 just fine in our own countries, but that's cause the test is also TEXT BASED.
Even if you can get the highest mark in that test, it doesn't mean that you can communicate properly/ normally in Japan tho.
In the end, usage is the most important (rather than the grades or what level you are.) TwT at least me thinketh.
I probably fail at english and tagalog too even tho i speak both of them just fine xD;; In short, it's just all about getting used to it. O^O
Kanji is the hardest for me, I have very very little chinese back ground, I just knew how to write 1-10 before I started so yeah it's a pain but sometimes it's fun learning it cause it looks like pretty pictures -shot'd- and i dunno why i kinda feel cool when i use them WHAHAHAH -STAB'D-
Chinese have the most advantage cuz even tho their reading is different they can still somewhat understand what it means just by looking and when studying, they remember it faster of course.
I think the part where I enjoy most is the COMPOSITION just cause I like writting no matter what langauge it is.
My weakest point is reading, not only the kanji but I can read from sentence to sentence but just concentrating on READING doesnt get the info/ content in my head. XAX low low attention and memory.
Anyway when I come back next winter I will be here for a whole year before I go to Manga School :'3 (I'm already pretty old by then but ITS NEVAH TOO LATE I SAY!! <3 hahah) better than never.
IT kinda feels like I learned a way lot more than expected--- but much less--- bECAUSE I JUST WANNA LEARN MOOOOAR There's so much more out there I wanna know *A*
It's like I'm just starting to see the world and just learned how to speak and oh shit I gotta go back now nuuuuuuuuu >3<;; but anyway it's just temporary, I'll come back~
so that's it
If you have any questions feel free to ask any time o3o~
